remoteGATE enables financial intitutions to access the payment traffic in Switzerland and in the euro area without additional interfaces. Online, round the clock, worldwide.

Transfers in francs and euros

Transfers are processed entirely through the SWIFT application at the ordering financial institution. The payments are routed directly to the SIX Interbank Clearing BIC where they are converted for SIC (for Swiss francs) or euroSIC (for euro) processing.

MT103 and MT202 payment formats are accepted. Account information is delivered by SIX Interbank Clearing to the participants by using MT950 messages. No additional software is needed.

Cash management

remoteGATE provides financial institutions with an efficient interactive cash and liquidity management enabling them to access their SIC or euroSIC settlement accounts in real time via the Internet. The required and specialized inquiry application is already part and parcel of the remoteGATE package. To guarantee the utmost security for each user, a 128-bit encrypted secure Internet connection to Swiss Interbank Clearing is established. Password combinations in conjunction with a SecureID card are being used. For identification purposes an electronic certificate is generated for each individual user.

This certificate is imprinted on a secure chip card (Smartcard), to be verified by a standard chip card reader connected to the local PC of the SIC or euroSIC participant. The participant only needs a newer Internet browser.

Direct debits

Financial institutions may also participate in the direct debit procedures of the Swiss banks (LSV+/BDD) via remoteGATE. A direct debit instruction is forwarded in the form of a MT104.

Further interfaces

In addition to remoteGATE, institutions have the choice of various interfaces offered by a number of software vendors. They enable access to the Swiss RTGS systems SIC and euroSIC as well as to other SIX Group company services. Participating institutions are linked with the SIX applications over Finance IPNet, a modern IP-based communication infrastructure.
