Standardization
SIX Interbank Clearing is active in several committees focused on questions of standardization concerning the national and international payment traffic. Due to globalization, standardization has become a major issue driving streamlined payment traffic processing.

Currently, much attention is given to the following topics:

  • Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA)
  • International norms for account numbers (IBAN)
  • Payments in DTA format
  • Standards for electronic messages for business communications with optional integration with applications (UN/EDIFACT)
  • ISO PAYMENTS.

The Swiss Commission for Financial Standardisation (SCFS), a committee of the Swiss Bankers Association, is the platform of the Swiss financial center dealing with national and international standards.
