E-commerce / Distance payments

When making a distance payment the cardholder is not personally present at the point of sales. This applies if the payment is made via the postal service, per telephone, fax or over the Internet. You need specific distance payment contracts if you wish to accept such payments.

Distance payments have greatly increased in recent years. There is also a corresponding growing interest among customers to accept such payments. As our contract partner, you too can profit from this growing payment mode. Particularly, because with it you can thereby guarantee secure payment processing.

We offer great solutions
In contrast to presence payments in which the cardholder is present on site, when paying per telephone, fax, the postal services or over the Internet, the cardholder cannot prove the accuracy of the information provided by presenting the card and his/her signature. Specific precautions must thus be taken to make the processing of credit card payments simple, safe and convenient for you and your customers alike. We offer great solutions to cover every eventuality.

There are basically two types of orders and card payments that you can accept in the distance payment business:

  • By phone, fax or through the mail:
These require you to enter the payment details that you receive in your computer.

If you wish to accept such payments, then you need a MAIL/PHONE ORDER contract.

  • Per Internet (e-commerce):
Here the cardholder enters his or her order electronically over the Internet.

If you wish to accept such payments, then you need a SECURE E-COMMERCE contract.

In addition, card data may not be transmitted unencrypted per e-mail. It must be at least provided with 128-bit SSL encryption when being transmitted over the Internet.
